What's Skeletal Elestial Quartz + Do You Need One?

Elestial quartz is sometimes also called skeletal quartz, Jacaré Quartz, or Crocodile/Alligator Quartz. But in reality, elestial quartz does not mean it is also skeletal elestial quartz.

There is a difference between elestial quartz and skeletal elestial quartz although many people online use the terms interchangeably.

Elestial quartz has many natural terminations all over it, but not like a cluster, where the terminations almost appear to melt into one another. It reminds me of a bouquet of flowers.

A skeletal elestial may have many terminations, too, but it also traps air, water, or other materials in it, layer by layer, which gives it a unique internal appearance. Over time, the air or water goes away leaving a crystal looking "structure" and a rough outside where when you look the inside of it you'll see what you could call the skeleton... where it appears parts of the crystal are missing.

Basically, it's a crystal that didn't grow in perfect conditions leading to it having its less than perfect appearance. So this is not a crystal for people looking for perfect crystals because these are far from it.

How to Identify Skeletal Elestial Quartz

The outside of the skeletal elestial quartz can have etchings, inclusions, extrusions, growth lines, rainbows, cavities, striations and it can look scaly on the outside. They may have multiple points growing closely together and when you look inside it almost appears to be its own world inside.

Sometimes you'll even find triangles on the face making it a record keeper crystal or water bubbles inside making it an enhydro.

The markings are very geometric and you'll find it looks like a construction team put up some scaffolding, did their works, and left the joint. Or some say it has layers like an onion.

You'll find that some of these are prettier than others - as with every crystal, but when it comes to elestial quartz many of the specimens out there are less than amazing to look at - unless you're ready to dole out mucho dollars.

Typically you'll find the common variety is the Smoky Quartz, while a skeletal elestial amethyst is very rare.

Is a Skeletal Elestial Quartz Worth More?

Because I'm a skeptic and like to do my own research, I was thinking the only extra value one would find in owning a skeletal elestial quartz would come from wanting to have a unique crystal in one's collection. I assumed it would act as other quartz crystals and its only differentiator would be the aesthetics.

I was wrong.

When I took my copper dowsing rods to it I surprisingly found that the energy torus was much larger. To say I was shocked is an understatement. So there may just be something to this unique crystal after all.

So if we're looking to purchase quartz and want one that has practically double (or more) of the energy of clear quartz, then I'd say yes. A Skeletal Elestial is worth more in terms of putting out double the energy field.

As for it helping with doing deep, healing work and getting results? Not sure, yet. I haven't done any work with mine but because I haven't, I decided to put it on top of my tarot deck, to see what happens. In the meantime, if you've had great results, I'd like to know.

How do you use Skeletal Elestial Quartz?
